Global Entrepreneurship Week is a collection of tens of thousands of events, activities and competitions each November that inspire millions to explore their potential as an entrepreneur while fostering connections and increasing collaboration within their ecosystems.
Diversity is a driver of innovation and economies suffer if a nation or group of people are underrepresented or face structural barriers – the world needs more entrepreneurs. Powered by the Kauffman Foundation, Global Entrepreneurship Week has expanded to 170+ nations since its launch in 2008 with 20,000 partner organizations now serving as GEN’s community-building backbone.
In collaboration with our partners, Corpus BDC, who are the host organization in Nigeria, we at Aspens Capital support and participate at the GEW to push and encourage the entrepreneurial spirit among young innovators while providing them with an avenue for development through funding, networking, and partnerships.
This is another activity Aspens Capital is happy to be a part of. Morphgen is a community development-focused project by our partners at MorphGen Consults, a 21st Century Pan African brand that drive human performance improvement and capacity development through educational reforms.
One of the sub-programs is Edu Connect, a community based platform targeted towards building a creative educational community and transforming the future of the Nigerian youth by training and certifying teachers, school agents, and tutors on Effective Communication Technique for Teachers and Trainers through Alison.com.
It featured sessions from seasoned speakers who were invited to help facilitate the event and encourage participants.
The Perfume Masterclass
Aspens Capital is a proud partner of The Perfume Masterclass. The Perfume Masterclass, as suggested by the name, is a perfume-production training, first of its kind in Nigeria and the whole of Africa. The event is primarily aimed at the empowerment of visually impaired and less privileged people.
It is also open to the general public. In the class, we train participants to become masters in the art of perfumery. We usually invite two French master perfumers. Trainings have been held twice in Dubai and have trained almost 50 people.
